JUROR
P. Doran Porcynaluk
Houston area artist and profeesor, P. Doran Porcynaluk, is a printmaker and mixed media artist with several awards and exhibitions to her credit. She has curated and juried exhibits on the Texas Gulf Coast and her work can be seen in private and corporate collections across America. Her teachinig experience at Houston Community College includes Foundation and Life Drawing, Painting, Design and Printmaking. She has been quoted as saying that teaching is one of her passions and that "one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing students surpass the teacher!" Former students credit her with pushing them further than they dreamed possible. We are fortunate that Ms. Porcynaluk has agreed to assume the role of juror for us. She brings a sense of professionalism and an experience, knowledge and talent that will enrich our exhibit.
Special Guest Judge
T.O. Stanley
We have also asked West Texas Cowboy and boot maker, T.O. Stanley, to share his expertise with us. His degree is in fine arts. His media is hide and his art is the cowboy boot. His client list is a who's who of the world famous, but he keeps his own boots on the ground. T.O. knows a boot is more than a heel, toe, vamp, and shaft. There is a spirit to the boot. There is a heart to the boot. There is a soul to the boot. Those are what make up a boot and the person who wears the boot. We asked T.O. to select the piece in the exhibit that captures that spirit, heart, and soul for him. We are honored to add his talent and vision to our exhibit.
